The Foiling Organization at METSTRADE 2026
PROGRAMME
17 – 19 November 2026
RAI AMSTERDAM
Foiling is leaving the race course and entering the boating market, and the three sessions below follow that shift from three directions. The first opens with the numbers and asks who insures a craft that flies. The second tracks America’s Cup technology into working boats in North America. The third looks at what the next generation of superyachts will take from the racing world. All three are moderated by Luca Rizzotti, Founder and President of The Foiling Organization, and run alongside the Foiling Technology Zone in Hall 10, created by The Foiling Organization in partnership with METSTRADE.
Market, standards and insurance
17 November 2026
Foiling is the fastest-growing segment in boating, but growth without rules has a ceiling. This session opens with the data: market size, segments and growth curves across e-foils, foiling dinghies and powered foilers.
It then turns to what the numbers demand next. The Foiling Organization presents its work with certification bodies and insurers towards the first dedicated framework for foiling craft, and asks the question defining the market’s next phase: who insures the flight, and on what basis?

From the America's Cup to working boats
18 November 2026
America’s Cup programmes have built the deepest foiling know-how on the planet, and in North America that know-how is leaving the race course. Leading US and Canadian builders are putting foils under working boats: electric commuters, water taxis, patrol and naval support craft.
The panel explores what racing R&D is worth in a commercial business case, where the capital is flowing, including growing government and defense interest, and what it takes to industrialise a technology born to win regattas.

From the America's Cup to the superyacht fleet
19 November 2026
Hydrofoil technology has spent two decades being perfected at the extreme end of the sport. Now it is arriving where the market is: the superyacht fleet. This panel follows the transfer chain from raceboat engineering to owner experience, tracing how foiling chase boats, tenders and toys are reshaping life aboard through electric propulsion with real range and wake-free, near-silent operation around the mothership.
Designers, builders and operators come together to discuss what genuinely translates from racing to leisure, what owners are already asking for, and the questions the industry must now answer around certification, classification and insurance of foiling craft. Expect a candid look at where the technology is heading next, and what it will take to get there safely.
