Beyond Broadcast

Reimagining the Future of Media in Sailing and Foiling

October 5TH, 2026

GENOA INTERNATIONAL BOAT SHOW

Media is changing faster than sport itself.

The questions facing broadcasters, digital platforms, production companies, creators and rights holders are no longer separate: How do you reach younger audiences? How do AI and new production technologies change storytelling? How do you balance premium broadcast with creator-driven content? How do you turn audiences into communities, and stories into commercial value?

This summit brings together the people who make sport with the people who distribute it—not simply to discuss these questions, but to help shape the next generation of sailing and foiling media.

For Media Professionals

For media professionals, this is an opportunity to:

  • Meet decision-makers from rights holders, event organizers, teams, broadcasters, digital platforms and technology companies in one room.
  • Discover new business opportunities through partnerships, production projects, rights conversations and commercial collaborations.
  • See what is actually working in AI, live production, storytelling and digital distribution—not in theory, but through real-world case studies.
  • Influence the future by contributing to working groups that will help define standards and best practices for media in sailing and foiling.
  • Access stories, people and ideas before they become industry consensus.

This is not a traditional conference. It is a working summit designed for the people building the future of sports media.

Foiling & Sailing Media Summit: one afternoon, five panels

Media is no longer the layer that reports the sport. It has become part of the sport product itself: the way sailing is captured, explained and distributed now directly shapes its audience, its commercial value and its relevance. Sailing itself wrote the first chapter of this story: the America’s Cup pioneered the augmented graphics layers that made high-speed racing readable on television, and SailGP has carried live data visualization to a new generation of viewers. Other sports then proved how far the model can go, from Formula 1 turning its paddock into a global narrative with Drive to Survive to Red Bull Media House building communities that stay engaged long after the event ends.

Sailing and foiling produce extraordinary images and advanced technology, yet the sport often remains hard to decode in real time. Closing that gap is no longer a communications issue. It is a strategic one. This summit puts the people who make the sport and the people who tell it in the same room: rights holders, broadcasters, athletes, creators, production companies, technology partners and the digital platforms (YouTube, Meta, TikTok) that are now as central to the ecosystem as any broadcaster.

It is a working session, not a conference. Each panel feeds a working group that will run through the year and lay the groundwork for a standalone Media Congress in 2027.

Who Should Attend

Major properties, federations and classes, broadcasters and production companies, digital and social leads, athletes and teams, photographers and filmmakers, drone/camera/AI technology providers, digital platforms, sponsors, rights experts, host destinations, and selected creators. The value of the summit lies precisely in this intersection: the future media ecosystem of sailing will not be built by any one of these categories alone.
